POSITION SUMMARY: As a Case Care Coordinator, you play a pivotal liaison role in coordinating care for our patients with physicians, RN’s, therapists and clinical staff. The Coordinator also provides timely and effective communication with the patient, insurance adjuster, and any other necessary parties.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Assists with all front office functions including patient relations, check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. * Aids patients with ambulatory disabilities when needed. * Manages filing medical records and patient information, coordinating lab work, and reviewing encounter forms for accuracy. * Processes orders and authorizations for physical therapy, braces, medications, imaging, and/or injections. * Obtains referrals for clinic visits from referring physicians and preauthorizations for studies and/or surgery from insurance companies. * Partners with patients to provide and review educational materials in preparation for studies and/or surgery. * Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of patient charge entry into the billing system, assists with collecting and recording co-pays (cash and/or charge), and balances patient accounting daily.
EXPERIENCE: * One year of experience as a Surgery Scheduler or Medical Assistant is preferred. * Knowledge of medical terminology is highly preferred. * Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Experience using an EHR system is extremely helpful.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: * Current BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
