We are looking for distinctive talent, capable of visualizing the end goal and someone who has the creativeness and skill to create that vision into an automated functioning piece of equipment. In our laboratory, you will be creating one-off machinery that subsequent equipment may be replicated from for our production environment.

  • Direct daily operations, maintenance, scheduling, quality, and sampling of tooling and processes for new closure designs.

  • Design and build new automation equipment for new closure development.

  • Test prototype tooling and materials for new product development.

  • Inspect tooling before use.

  • Confirm availability of all materials and components and quality of manufactured components.

  • Perform concept work for patentable processes or products to ensure new products have added value. Build for safe operation and function.

  • Design and build test fixtures and equipment for other labs. Capable to safely utilize manual machine shop equipment, machinist for the Innovation Center.

  • Test materials for the materials group to ensure the number of test requests are completed on time.

  • Maintain equipment in the Plastics Development Lab and Machine Shop to ensure jobs are completed on time.

  • Build PLC based control systems. PLC programming machine motion controls. Programming Servo control systems.

  • Provide Plant Manufacturing support. Troubleshoot molds, machines and processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in electronics including PLC programming and Fluid Power or equivalent experience.

  • Journeyman Machinist or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum five (5) years related working experience.

  • Capable to document design of manufactured components/equipment, C.A.D., machine design, automation, electronics, PLC, hydraulics, servo, integration, machining, fixturing,

  • Capable to operate molding plant equipment, understand production machine controls or be trained with minimal supervision / input.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office),

  • Experience required in the injection/compression manufacturing environment.

  • Must be a self-starter and capable of scheduling and executing as necessary to support and complete tasks as required.

  • Tooling knowledge.
