This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical duties including keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must have Must be willing to set up, adjust, repair, inspect and break down various plant equipment. Must have knowledge of electrical and mechanical, such as motor wiring, control wiring, running conduit, and pull wiring. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be able to comprehend and process the paperwork necessary to the position. Must be able to communicate with co-workers and management. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift 50 or more pounds and be willing to work on your feet for a period of up to 12 hours or more. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Must be willing to learn inventory management and perform other duties assigned to the lead (including assigning work, communicating with contractors vendors and assisting supervisor with various plant projects).
Applicants must have at least one year of industrial maintenance experience with two years of experience in the electrical field preferred. This position will be for 2nd shift. Must be willing to work other shifts when necessary. Scheduling can include some major holidays and weekends. Must be willing to take computerized mechanical knowledge and hands-on tests and reach level MG05 within 1 year. Must be willing to become certified to operate PIT equipment (forklift, power jacks, scissor lift, boom lift, etc.). Work environment will vary and may at times be indoors or outside with temperatures below freezing to over 100 degrees.
