Summary: The Integration Interface Engineer is consistently proficient and independently performs installation, maintenance, and support of the HL7 interface engine for real-time interfaces, batch file transfers, Epic Bridges, and Interconnect web API’s. Provides detailed scope for projects to the manager and gives input on project prioritization. Provides mentorship and knowledge transfer to Integration Development Analysts. Provides input to the manager for Interface Development Analyst evaluations. Under general supervision and in a team environment follows the project management life cycle methodology to implement small/medium/large system integration projects. Performs field by field testing and full-volume testing of data. Work with clients, business analysts and application developers to define specifications of changes. Builds translation tables and filters to meet specifications. Analyzes and tests HL7 messages. Performs modifications and documentation as assigned. Monitors interface engine ensuring uninterrupted message transfers. Participates in ongoing support of production environments by rotating a team on-call schedule as assigned for 24/7 client support coverage. Performs technical support maintenance on a scheduled quarterly basis. Embraces change management controls. Troubleshoots and maintains in-house developed integration processes as assigned.
Education: Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Healthcare related fields; or an Associate’s degree with an additional 4 years of experience in a comparable job.
Certification: Cloverleaf Level 1 certification required. Cloverleaf Level 2 certification preferred. Epic Certification Classes will be provided if needed, and candidate will be required to pass applicable Certification projects/exams. Ongoing re-certifications will be required.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of comparable experience coding in HL7. Knowledge of FHIR and web services preferred.
