Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, has an opening for an Olin Management System (OMS) Coordinator/Cost Controller, located in Freeport, TX. As the OMS coordinator, the incumbent employee will partner with Business, Function, or Plant Leadership to promote and coordinate a proactive and effective plant/department OMS program to meet business, plant, function, and individual goals in support of a highly reliable and sustainable workforce. Validates and tracks down cost in SAP and escalates inconsistencies. Reaches out directly to contract companies and requests explanation on those inconsistencies. Works closely with the department budget focal point on cost reporting and explanation for spending.

Essential Functions:

OMS Coordinator

  • General knowledge of their organizations' vision, goals and strategy related to Operations, EH&S and Quality

  • Understands OMS processes and tools

  • Understands EH&S work processes

  • Leads overall OMS "implement" and "maintain" efforts for the department / plant.

  • Identifies and prioritizes opportunities at the plant / department level.

  • Works with Business/Function/Site Implementation Leadership to identify organization level opportunities.

  • Assists in the identification and training of department / plant Element Focal Points on OMS system components

  • Creates and modifies annual Self-Assessment Plan and monitors progress

  • Coordinates ongoing department/plant efforts to maintain the OMS system, reduce unplanned events and maximize value from OMS use

  • Facilitates annual Management System Review and manages follow-up action items

  • Ensures department/plant documentation is kept up to date

Cost Controller:

  • Participate in the Liquefaction and Distribution Budget Team Monthly Meetings

  • Analyze costs using SAP, reviewing multiple plant cost centers. Work in conjunction with the plant budget focal point.

  • Defines and executes course of action to correct cost control issues

  • Works directly with AC/GK for L&D, looking for unauthorized charges being charged to the plant

  • Track daily maintenance costs to the department

  • Track and assist the monthly accrual process by documenting all needed accruals at month end.

  • Work directly with plant cost accountant to ensure appropriate charges to appropriate cost centers.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through proper cost management and operating discipline.

  • Develop and maintain cost reports and contingency analyses

  • Work with scheduler, vendors and contractors to validate remaining work and associated costs

  • Seek/pursue enhancements to cost tracking system and processes

  • Coach and develop others on reporting functions of cost tracking tools

  • Facilitate reconciliation of invoices against field estimates for approvals for payment

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred

  • 2 or more years of accounting or manufacturing experience required

  • Competent in utilizing Microsoft based programs

  • Understanding local, business and global OMS training requirements for plant/department

  • Passion for learning, passion for cost discipline

  • Organized, good communicator

  • Good time manager and scheduler

  • Agent of change, ability to have difficult conversations

  • One who drives and ensures accuracy of records

  • SAP and Microsoft Excel skills

  • Ability to work at a desk
