Volvo Group Product Manager - Aftermarket in Greensboro, North Carolina

Purpose of Position:

Effectively support the organizations sales and GP growth targets by ensuring a strategic parts offering, develop new programs to meet market demands and improve dealer and customer adoption.

Responsible for market analysis and long term product strategy by iinterpreting trends, creating a vision, strategy and business plan to drive business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis and Strategy Development

  • Identify and articulate market trends, demand drivers, industry trends and overall competitive landscape

  • Conduct price/value analysis for current vendor and proprietary programs, identifying and exploiting current product gaps

  • Design product and category roadmaps that align with short term, mid-term and long-term desk strategy

  • Manage the product lifecycle

Business Plan Creation and Execution

  • Incorporate market analysis data to formulate business plans for product categories

  • Define resource requirements (people, money, time)

  • Work cross functionally to define sales, technology and marketing strategies

  • Build consensus around business plan

  • If applicable, plan product launches, including development of marketing and sales plan

  • Train internal stakeholders (sales force and customer service teams) and external dealers on new programs

  • Provide support to marketing and communication teams to create necessary marketing collateral – including e-commerce material

Continued Product Management

  • Manage the P&L (sales and margin) for assigned desk

  • Deliver sustainable profitable growth

  • Create training curriculum and support the development of collateral materials that help sell key product programs

  • Track progress to the business plan and correct course if necessary to resolve gaps

  • Help facilitate resolution when program or product issues arise (e.g., quality, delivery, capacity issues, etc.)

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent experience required

  • MBA Preferred

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • Five years of marketing, business development or account management experience, preferably in the automotive or heavy duty trucking industry

  • Knowledge of brand strategies and ability to comprehend and create action plans that deliver growth

  • Understanding of key marketing principles including the 4P’s, Price / Value, and digital marketing platforms

  • Strong data analysis skills and financial acumen
