Performs routine, specialized painting, and related tasks to maintain the condition and appearance of Buckingham’s building and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting, or other means necessary.
Mixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties.
Keeps up general maintenance by use of caulks, putties, cements to plaster holes and cracks.
Erect scaffolding, ladders, and lifts.
Knowledge of safety procedures for working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
Determines quantities and requests supplies orally or in writing.
Cleans and stores tools and equipment as well as the work site.
Has considerable knowledge of OSHA standards for chemical use.

Educational Requirements and Experience:
- High school diploma and one year of experience at a level equivalent to journeyman painter or similar work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 190 pounds with assistance of a second employee and/or mechanical devices. The employee may occasionally be required to lift greater than 190 pounds with the assistance of additional staff and/or a mechanical lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
