SecureAuth Senior Accountant / Revenue Accounting Manager in Irvine, California

Job Description: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is intelligent, experienced and highly motivated. This individual will understand and enjoy all aspects of accounting, analysis and have a passion for detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in the accounting profession with increasing responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities: • Display a deep understanding of GAAP and the underlying principles, including, but not limited to, the areas of revenue recognition, foreign exchange and reserves • Review customer contracts and prepare revenue recognition memorandum in compliance with company policy • Work cross-functionally with members of the Sales Operations team to improve workflow and communication as well as collaborate on the preparation of routine commission calculations and reports • Assist with the monthly closing process and annual audit, including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis • Assist with the review, edit and maintenance of the accounting policies with the assistance of the accounting team • Research complex accounting transactions and present findings and recommendations • Demonstrate a professional level capability in the use of accounting software packages, Excel and the various MS Office products • Maintain a working understanding of file uploads and system interfaces • Maintain a professional and confidential attitude in all assigned tasks • Mentor/train other staff members on latest technologies and efficiencies with current technologies Job Requirements: • MUST have strong understanding of GAAP • MUST have experience preparing or auditing month and year end analysis and account reconciliations • MUST be highly organized, detail oriented and familiar with month and year end close responsibilities • Local candidates only • Progressive work history demonstrating increased understanding and responsibility • Excel expertise • Embrace a continuous learning environment • Proven strong, effective written and verbal communication skills • Familiarity with revenue recognition techniques in the software industry • Strong analytical skills • Ability to work well in teams both within and outside of the accounting organization
