Role Description

The Grid Solutions Senior Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of technology infrastructure solutions to enable Institutional Client Group and CTO risk functions achieve their goals for being the best for the client. You will apply your extensive technical subject matter knowledge and social skills to uncover challenges and identify/develop solutions to solve those challenges. You are distinguished within your field for having a deep level of technical understanding and experience in Distributed Computing and High Performance Computing.

You will partner with leaders, developers, and engineers to implement solutions that meet the needs of the internal customer. You will resolve complex issues, using your deep technical knowledge and analysis, and provide support as a senior technical contact within CTI Grid Services. You will be an infrastructure solutions subject matter expert for systems configuration, capacity planning, performance analysis, and infrastructure planning.

The Grid Solutions Engineer will work as a key member of Grid team aligned to IaaS cloud and Grid Services. The person will work closely with business and development team to optimize highly parallel workloads on Grid platform, leveraging modern and innovative technologies in order to deliver the optimeal performance and cost-effective manner. A very strong understanding of Grid computing (IBM Platform, LSF) parallel computing (CUDA, R, MapReduce, AI,Quantum Computing, Data Sciences) and financial models( VaR, CVA, Basel II). Previous experience with Compute Scavenging/Harvesting for on-off prem with cloud bursting is highly desired

The candidate should be able to work on individual tasks and work well within a team of dynamic resources. Reporting to the GRID Operations Manager, this individual will be responsible for the support of IBM Platform Symphony/LSF middleware. Senior member of the CTI Grid Operations team in maintaining a central grid compute utility for multiple businesses including ICG, Consumer Banking, GTS. The candidate will provide technical support to various application teams to on-board new applications, computational/quantitative; onto the Grid Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design charter that includes a high levelsystem architecture diagram and component deployment architecture for allof Grid

  • Study and validate available application benchmarking for existingapplications and evolve the infrastructure roadmap by taking into accountemerging technology trends

  • Assess the impact of adoption of new technologies on ouroperational ability and also figure out the financial benefit of adoption

  • Handle the Grid Services platform and environment hand-overdocumentation that includes configuration documents and guidelines

  • Identify projects, design solutions, and provide technicalguidance and project oversight to drive successful implementations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on systems configuration,capacity planning, performance analysis, optimization, and other items relatedto the technology infrastructure

Skills /Experience Levels .

  • You will have strong technical knowledge Grid Orchestrators andSchedulers. Your technical proficiency includes systems experience, strongtroubleshooting and problem solving skills, and issue management in amulti-platform environment.

  • You have project experience migrating and deploying solutions inthe applicable area of technical knowledge/expertise

  • At least 5 years of experience with Platform Symphony or similarScheduler and Orchestrator.

  • Knowledge of Linux, OS, Network, Databases, C/C++, Python, Ruby,exposure to event driven automation

  • AWS certificates and at least two years of hands on AWS experience
