Job Summary / Purpose

The position supports Entergy’s bill payment assistance programs and related social services agency outreach. As part of a small team, this person will share responsibilities for escalated low-income customer bill payment issues and The Power to Care donations processing. In addition, this individual interfaces with all levels of management and provides timely and accurate fund, bill payment and agency status reports.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiates pledges and accepts bill payment assistance from partner agencies on behalf of clients. Explains client account information to third parties acting as client advocates.

  • Develops transaction reports and coordinates remittances with Entergy’s Payment Processing.

  • Conducts technical training programs about the financial assistance web portal with Entergy’s partner agencies.

  • Maintains financial assistance administrator agreements and contracts.

  • Participates in community outreach and events associated with third-party bill payment programs.

  • Reviews and maintains accurate list of third-party bill payment agencies.

  • Manages logistics support and other projects as required by Corporate Social Responsibility.

  • Performs administrative duties within the department as may be required.

  • Performs data entry associated with specific work functions within the department and performs customer accounting transactions affecting billing and payments on customer accounts as examples.

  • Provides project assistance as directed by the department leadership.

  • Records Management Custodian responsibilities including file maintenance, reporting and compliance to internal and regulatory required records retention policies.

  • Must be willing to assume a storm restoration role and travel if necessary.

Minimum Requirements: Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

College Degree a Plus

Minimum Requirements: Experience

5-7 years of relevant experience

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Outstanding attention to detail and proven data entry experience required. Experience working with low-income individuals and social service agencies a plus. Strong verbal communication skills. Written communication skills a plus. Strong computer knowledge required including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, Word and Outlook. Knowledge of CCS system is a plus. Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
