Position SummaryThe Instructor Inflight Training is a highly motivated and detail oriented individual who is responsible for delivering instruction and conducting training evaluations for JetBlue new hire and existing Inflight Crewmembers. The Instructor delivers instruction and evaluation of both technical and non-technical information with energy, passionate enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence.Essential ResponsibilitiesFacilitator in classroom and simulator instructionComplete necessary administrative duties in preparation for scheduled classroom sessions Assists Supervisor, Inflight Training with special projects and facilitates joint training sessions with Flight Department (TEM, Emergency Situations Training, etc.)Periodically works as an Inflight CrewmemberAll other duties as assignedMinimum Experience and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma requiredCurrently qualified as a JetBlue Inflight Crewmember OR One (1) year prior experience as a Flight Attendant in another Part 121 carrier Successfully complete JetBlue Airways Inflight Training Program, including Initial Training and Annual Continuous Education ProgramsMust have the ability to walk comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward, fit quickly through the over wing exit, and sit in the Flight Attendant jumpseat without modification Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds from the floor to above the shouldersAble to reach six feet three inches (63) without shoesAble to prepare and administer oral and written examinationsAble to work varying schedules including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, holidays and last minute drafting if neededRemain composed in a demanding, fast-paced work environment and take control in unexpected situationsAvailable for occasional overnight travel (up to 25%)Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States on a frequent basisPass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedPreferred Experience and QualificationsBachelors Degree One (1) year training/instructing experience Two (2) year experience as a Flight Attendant in another Part 121 carrierDemonstrated ability to coach others and motivate and mentor studentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail Strong organizational and administrative skills Proficient with Microsoft Office suiteCrewmember Expectations: Regular attendance and punctuality Need to work flexible hours and shift work, and be available to respond on short-noticeWell groomed and able to maintain a professional appearanceWhen working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftOrganizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunPromote JetBlues #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlues Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlues confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR)) Equipment: Computer/Electronic Tablet and other office equipment Various pieces of emergency equipmentCabin training devicesDoor training devicesWater training deviceWork Environment: Normal Office Environment Cabin and door training devices Some simulated aircraft level noiseSome simulated and/or full-motion capabilitiesIrregular shift work, training center is operated twenty four (24) hours per day and seven (7) days per weekOccasional temporary work assignments in bases or other locationsOccasional on call/reserve dutyPhysical Effort: Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. * The salary listed in the header is an estimate based on salary data for similar jobs in the same area.
