Compensation Specialist - Seasonal
Responsible for working with business units or support departments to implement and administer various Total Reward Programs. Provide advice and counsel to management on compensation related issues. Recommend changes to Total Reward Programs to ensure the company establishes and maintains a competitive advantage. Create and/or maintain process documentation and update, as necessary. Work independently, at the direction of the director of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work as part of the Total Rewards team to design and/or administer programs that attract, retain, and motivate associates while supporting the business objectives.
Evaluate jobs at all levels of the organization and establish market price.
Work with management and/or associates to educate/counsel on effective use of Total Reward programs and tools.
Partner with management to effectively address unique situations or needs. Provide creative solutions to help the business, while remaining cognizant of internal and external issues.
Identify process improvement opportunities. Document current processes and develop recommendations for improvements. Establish appropriate benchmark measures to evaluate the success of the process improvement after implementation.
Conduct other business analyses, studies, and projects as requested.
Help manage Total Rewards Programs, including budgeting process, communication campaign strategy, deployment of communication material and roll-out.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area
Strong project management skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects to established deadlines.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Effective presentation skills to all levels, from senior management to line/staff associates.
Demonstrated ability to make workable recommendations and possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to be flexible in developing creative solutions to business issues, yet maintaining equity and integrity within the business.
Self-starter with proven ability to work with minimal direction and in somewhat ambiguous situations.
Thorough working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, Access and Power Point. Extensive experience with and proven ability to utilize Excel in complex spreadsheet analyses.
Knowledge of human resources principles, practices and techniques.
Knowledge and experience with HRIS systems.
Proven ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and strict discretion.
Strong customer service orientation. Must be flexible and adaptable to satisfy customer needs.
Working knowledge of ADA and FLSA rules and regulations.
Three - five years of experience in design and/or administration either in a large organization with diverse constituencies and varied total reward programs, or in a consultative capacity providing advice and counsel to clients on diverse issues.
Six - eight years of related experience
