Senior Manager - Energy
This position is for Pactiv, a company of Reynolds Group Holding Inc.
Manage all aspects of Pactiv’s energy programs for the company’s 50 North American manufacturing and warehousing facilities to reduce YOY energy usage and total spend. Focus includes energy efficiency improvement, utility demand response, utility incentives, negotiated rate improvements, commodity hedging, cogeneration, renewables/alternatives, and government economic development opportunities.
Develop a comprehensive corporate energy strategy in partnership with Pactiv’s senior executives and cascade to all facilities for timely and effective execution to established objectives.
Provide energy cost and usage forecasts to all facilities for annual budgeting purposes.
Track and report out monthly performance to Pactiv’s senior executives on energy usage and rates for all facilities.
Scope and manage medium to large energy capital projects to reduce energy usage across all facilities.
Develop, initiate, and manage energy best practice savings initiatives/programs for compressed air, process water, vacuum, equipment zero state energy, etc.
Provide expert technical advice, counsel and training to facilities to reduce energy consumption by optimizing efficiency.
Work closely with Pactiv Corporate Purchasing, energy consultants, energy vendors, and public utilities to reduce electrical, oil, gas and steam rates while maintaining energy reliability.
Work closely with and provide competent direction to consultants and contractors, in addition to facility leaders to achieve YOY objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical) required with a master’s degree being preferred.
10+ years of applicable manufacturing, energy, and project management related experience.
Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to drive simultaneous execution of dozens of energy related improvement projects across Pactiv’s manufacturing and warehousing facilities.
Work experience with commonly used manufacturing support utility systems and equipment is required. May include plant process cooling water, compressed air, vacuum, steam, etc.
Work experience related to utility grid rules, laws, incentives, demand response and economic development rate programs is preferred.
Work experience related to energy commodity supply side management is preferred. May include contract negotiations with energy providers, commodity hedging, operating in regulated and non-regulated markets, etc.
Demonstrated business results as a visionary technical leader.
Must have excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and remote digital (email, Skype, etc.)
Must have strong computer and analytical skills using standard software packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
