The Logistics/Data Analyst III provides complex equipment performance assessment, and O&M subcontractor maintenance services assessment utilizing reliability, maintainability and availability (RM&A) analyses and several other ILS management and analytical tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and conduct performance assessments of CBP high technology inspection equipment by analyzing historical maintenance data through RM&A metrics, failure mode identifiers, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, etc.; identify areas of concern, trends, strengths, etc.

  • Monitor and conduct performance assessments of O&M vendor equipment maintenance services and maintenance management efforts by analyzing historical maintenance data, financial data, customer and quality assessment feedback, self-assessments etc.; identify strengths, areas needing improvement, vendor program management function

  • Contribute to development of and review of internally and externally generated technical documents, manuals, analyses, Project Work Statements (PWS), performance specifications, plans (ILSP, sparing solutions, etc.), provisioning technical documents (PTD), technical proposals, work instructions, configuration change documents, etc.; provide analytical insight and comments. To that end familiar with elements of ILS and their relationship to each other

  • Interface with CBP customers at various levels providing both tactical and strategic analysis and support

  • Support the transition of CBP fielded equipment from vendor warranty support phase to the O&M maintenance support phase through acceptance testing efforts

  • Familiarize oneself with CBP high technology inspection equipment and become a subject matter expert (SME) for select equipment and equipment families

  • Perform codification of failure mode identifiers (Problem, Failure, Cause, Action Taken) in the historical maintenance database on completed maintenance work orders

  • Download a variety of technical data and update maintenance support databases

  • Participate in and/or take the lead in the development of Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMP), Risk Mitigation Plans

  • Participate in various CBP meetings to provide logistics support analysis and insight as required.

  • Contribute to, create and review ILS documents and procedures to provide full equipment life cycle support (LCS) while maximizing customer satisfaction and minimizing support costs

  • Use Microsoft Access and Excel to develop applications and tools needed to create customer reports.

  • Apply process improvement principles to all application tools and reports.

  • May be required to travel to sites to participate in equipment relocation tasks.

  • May require oversight and training of junior staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Associate' s="" degree="" or="" equivalent="" years="" of="" experience

  • 3 years of experience in data mining and data analysis

  • Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate level minimum in Excel, Access, and Word.

  • Will be required to pass a CBP Background Investigation (BI)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in creating analytical documents and reports; such as trend analyses, technical summaries, and statistical summaries

  • Ability to plan and accomplish logistics support goals while working as a member of an integrated team that includes Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering

  • Strong analytical background/skills.

  • Solid communications (oral and written); demonstrated technical report writing and MS Word skills

  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision and in a multi-tasking environment

  • Mechanical aptitude a plus

  • MAXIMO or other maintenance management application experience a plus
