The Challenge

THE CHALLENGE:

GE Appliances Talent Acquisition Team is seeking an experienced Recruiter, who uses independent judgment and innovative thinking skills to source and hire hard-to-find talent to support our Distribution and Services Group. The ideal candidate will have full life recruitment experience with internal client groups and have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude. This position will actively provide recruiting support for our high volume geographically dispersed Field Service Technician positions.

As a Talent Advisor, this role will be a subject matter expert and trusted partner to hiring managers, owning the relationship and driving recruitment strategy as well as process. This position will also be a part of a high performing work team responsible for supporting a variety of skill areas – i.e. technology, IT, marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing, human resources, communication, etc.

(Virtual/Remote Work Location Option): While there are advantages to our Louisville, KY headquarters, the work location may be flexible depending on the candidate. Relocation assistance is not provided.

What you will Do

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Talent Advisor

  • Partner with hiring leaders of assigned functional areas to understand recruiting needs, business objectives, and the required candidate job level, experience, characteristics, and competencies

  • As the subject matter expert, proactively work with assigned functional area’s Human Resource professionals and hiring leaders to discuss desired recruiting strategies, source and screen qualified internal and external candidates, and professionally onboard new employees

  • Management and ownership of the recruiting process from candidate sourcing through identification, interviewing, selection, offer presentation, negotiation and close

  • Act as point of escalation for TA customers and issue resolution on operational matters

  • Proactively establish and identify recruiting process enhancements to ensure strong candidate pipeline for all skillsets

  • Handle specialized recruitment needs to address spikes in hiring volume, via appropriate hiring strategies

  • Influence client groups by providing insightful market data that supports business growth and decision making

  • Continuously work on ways to improve the recruiting process and candidate experience. Stay up to date on innovative recruiting trends and practices

  • Ensure day-to-day operational effectiveness and quality talent acquisition outcomes within specific functional areas, establishing a culture of shared success

Position Management

  • Labor Market Expertise Educates Manager on market trends which may impact ability to fill (Salary, Skill Set availability)

  • Prioritize position requirements based on business needs

  • Manage jobs in Workday, our ATS, through monitoring and progress reporting

  • Track metrics and use data for strategic analysis of recruiting campaigns

Sourcing, Screening, and Candidate Management

  • Own actively sourcing qualified and diverse candidates to meet position requirements from internal job postings, job board mining, internet sourcing, social networking, employee referrals, and networking events and/or referral candidate pools

  • Ensures compliance with government regulations regarding employment

  • Reach out to GE Appliances’ Affinity Groups to support hiring plans that meet corporate hiring initiatives for diversity, gender, veterans, and disabilities

  • Facilitate an impressive candidate experience through thorough communication and timely feedback, as well as interviewer preparedness

  • Conducts phone screens

  • Network and maintain relationships with key talent communities for active and passive opportunities

  • Collaborate with Sourcing Recruiters to prioritize, establish and execute appropriate TA strategies

Selection, Offer Management, and Onboarding

  • Ensures all contingencies are met prior to new hire orientation and hiring managers are advised of any potential delays.

What you need to Succeed

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full cycle recruitment experience in direct sourcing, ideally a combination of staffing and corporate/in-house with a focus on technical roles

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Direct sourcing experience in technology and/or information systems and/or business functions (HR, finance, marketing, sales, supply chain)

  • Demonstrated experience in change management, establishing trust and credibility, working independently, interviewing and negotiating offers

  • Advanced proficiency in closing candidates

  • Strong selling, consultative selling and client relationship management skills.

  • Experience partnering with and advising hiring managers on recruiting decisions

  • Ability to learn systems, processes, and procedures quickly

  • Exceptional work ethic coupled with a sense of humor

  • He/she must be results-oriented; customer-service focused

  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, complex, and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Experienced in building networks to find qualified passive candidates.

  • Ability to actively provide recruiting support to multi-site operations and be capable of effectively building positive work partnerships with geographically dispersed multiple staff levels

  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications and have hands-on experience with web-based applicant tracking systems and candidate sourcing tools

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative, build strong, productive relationships

  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, insightful judgement and good analytical skills

  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills with a proven track record in coordinating complex projects

  • Displays good business acumen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing, Consumer Products or Technology recruitment experience

  • Sourcing experience hiring nationally for technician roles

  • Ability to drive recruiting campaigns and manage senior stakeholders effectively.

  • An understanding of compensation and benefits from a recruiting standpoint, as well as an understanding of OFCCP regulations and FLSA compliant staffing procedures is desired

  • Passion for Recruiting its impacts and its evolving landscape (excited by shiny objects)

  • Experience closing senior and/or executive level candidates and negotiating complex compensation packages.

  • Experience solving complex business issues and delivering significant impact as an individual contributor.

  • A track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, integrity, and proven organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle customer relationship management, provide strong customer consultative skills and work in a large-team environment.

  • Workday ATS experience a plus
