+ Position Summary: Provides all investigative, loss prevention and physical security service to the Medical Center community Has the authority and accountability for conducting all investigations, security surveys, in-service presentations and recommending loss prevention technology. Responsible for implementing investigation plan, compilation, analysis and distribution of database reports on losses, criminal activity and security services. The Security Investigator reports to the Security Manager. Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Required: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education Preferred: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education Minimum Experience: Required: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 10+ years of previous job-related experience Minimum Experience Details: Security and/or Law Enforcement experience Licensure/Certifications: Required: Valid Illinois State Drivers License,Beacon Certification,CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Position Responsibilities: Follow up on security incidents to identify suspects/offenders, where possible; recover missing or stolen property and return to owner. Collect and analyzing security data to determine risks, crime patterns and recommend tactics, equipment and procedures to decrease security risks. Determine the need for and conduct security awareness training for security staff, LUHS/LUC staff, students, employees to promote security awareness, crime and loss prevention along with promoting personal safety in the workplace. Conduct security assessments to evaluate risks and make recommendations to decrease risks. Work directly with Security Manager on the recommendation and installation of security equipment and systems. Review all security reports on a daily basis. Coordinate investigative efforts with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies when appropriate. Assist with interviewing Security Officer candidates.
