Summary:

The AR/VR organization works on building the next generation of tools that make people feel more connected. AI Assistant organization is part of AR/VR and is redefining the Assistant domain by incorporating social connections within various products at FB including AR/VR products. We build AI technology stack that acts as a central nervous system that interacts with users through various products such as Messenger and Portal. At this point, we use voice and text data to interpret the user intent however we are working towards incorporating multi-model data such as sound, texture etc. to understand user intent more accurately.

Our tech stack includes automated speech recognition (ASR), text to speech (TTS), natural language understanding (NLU), natural language generation (NLG), dialog manager and a knowledge graph with millions of entities that is growing every day. As a Data Scientist on the AI Assistant Analytics team, you'll help us bring AI Assistant to the masses. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop the next big computing platform. You'll work closely with engineers, designers, UX researchers, product managers to help us to track and understand user engagement with our platform as well as build the core metrics to evaluate the performance of each component in ML stack and find opportunities to improve it. The ideal candidate enjoys working with cross-functional teams, is highly analytical and enjoys building consumer products that has deep technology embedded.

Required Skills:

  1. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

  2. Deep dive into tech stack (ASR, TTS, NLU, NLG) to evaluate the performance and identify opportunities to improve the tech stack.

  3. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

  4. Apply statistical techniques to understand users and their engagement with the platform.

  5. Make recommendations to business partners based on data trends and analysis.

  6. Work with business partners to ensure collection and logging of data needed to provide insights on user engagement and help drive business decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related technical field.

  2. Analytical experience in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information.

  3. 4+ years experience in performing quantitative analysis.

  4. Experience in SQL or other programming languages.

  5. Experience in at least one scientific computing language such as Python, R, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in NLP.
