Listen up! There’s a revolution afoot in entertainment and education, and it’s Audible.

Audible, an Amazon company and perpetual innovator, is looking for a leader to further evolve the global presence of ACX (the Audiobook Creation Exchange) – the largest audiobook distributor in the world. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of ACX, the International Evangelist will work with global audiobook creative communities – authors, publishers, narrators, and studio professionals – and internal stakeholders to fully understand common audiobook-related needs, while prioritizing country-specific implementation details that impact current users and foster the future class of audio creators. The position requires international travel and coordination. It demands a self-starter who takes full ownership in projects, and someone who can speak to authors and narrators about the craft as well as they can communicate to senior leadership at Audible, Amazon, and outside companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grow the global ACX community in numbers, education, and awareness of the audiobook medium. Work closely with authors, narrators, publishers, and studios in the US and around the world to be a part of ACX

  • Evangelize the power of Audible to high-quality, self-servicing authors and narrators, while building and continually highlighting success stories to inspire new global content creators

  • Develop and own relationships with independent authors and audiobook producers. Manage ongoing relationships with preexisting content providers. And market to acquire audiobook content that will attract new subscribers and enhance the premium quality of Audible’s overall content offering

  • Continually identify the cross-section of available and future content needs to the current pool of ACX audio, and facilitate the usage of that content for all relevant customer experiences

  • Represent the voice of the author and narrator in everyday discussions with ACX stakeholders. Work directly with Audible country managers and/or other members with the Audible and Amazon family to distinguish between what is beneficial to both our community and company, and what should not yet be in focus

  • Create and maintain a roadmap, while socializing it internally, and executing on it until completion

  • Find, lead, attend and speak at interactive online and in-person conferences evangelizing the strength of the ACX platform and Audible’s stance as the best-in-class spoken word audio consumer product

  • Analyze and leverage data to Identify content for audio that is consistent with Audible’s and ACX’s business and editorial objectives. Continually improve authors and the creative class writing content for audio, and narrators skillset at providing an immersive experience to our customers

  • Identify and collaborate with global ambassadors to speak on behalf of Audible, bolstering a flourishing list of ever-growing audio evangelists

  • Liaise with other groups within Audible, such as Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and Legal to ensure successful content creation in scale

  • Actively participate in the brainstorming and development of new ACX features that provide true benefit to the international ACX community

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in global technology, publishing, media, television, film, music, or similar vertical or industry

  • Proven expertise in fully owning an idea from initial development through to post-execution review

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; the ability to project manage with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders

  • Stage presence and the ability to communicate about our product to diverse creative classes across the world

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Ability to create new procedures and workflow, along with experience in making data driven business decisions

  • Solid experience in Microsoft office, and strong experience in critical writing, and succinct idea dissemination

  • Team player with the ability to work effectively in high-energy, rapidly evolving organization

  • Ability to handle rapidly changing scheduling on a daily basis and set priorities
