CNA - Central Supply
Provides assigned patients with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the patient’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your Nurse Supervisor. Receives and verifies supplies incoming to center. Records information for recording. May be required to rotate stock to ensure timely use.
1.Performa CNA duties, when needed due to staffing requirements.Assists patients in and out of bed and into wheelchair with the correct use of the transfer belt.
2.Assists patients in bathing: to include bed baths, tub baths, and showers
3.Assists patients in dressing or undressing.
4.Takes vital signs of patient, e.g., temperature, blood pressure, and respiration and records information.
5.Assists patients to dining area for meals. May be required to assist in feeding of patients and documenting intake of nourishment.
6.Strips bedding and replaces with clean linens
7.Assists in personal grooming of patients, e.g., brushing hair, trimming fingernails and toenails, and shaving.
8.Turns patient intermittently if patient is bedridden due to illness.
9.Required to clean bedpans and empty catheter bags.
10.Documents and or reports information regarding the patients’ health, I&O, any change of medical condition, and care given.
11.Distributes fresh water to patients and picks up used water pitchers.
12.Required to pass food trays to individual patients in accordance with diet cards on tray.
13.Provides skin care, oral care and denture care
14.Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers as requested.
15.Understands and utilizes care plans.
16.Identifies the four basic food groups on a sample breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal.
17.Provides assistance with meals as requested (tray, delivery, feeding etc.)
18.Applies & releases restraints, and provide exercise.
19.Provides external/indwelling catheter care.
20.Offers fluids at appropriate times (including routine ice and water rounds)
21.Provides for bowel and bladder training/retraining.
22.Provides colostomy care.
23.Practices proper body mechanics while moving/transferring patients.
24.Provides range of motion exercises for patients.
25.Collects stool and urine samples
26.Recognizes and reports signs/ symptoms of abuse and/or change in condition
27.Properly documents in accordance with established guidelines
28.Receives and gives reports on patient’s status or condition.
29.Assists patients to and from activities as requested.
30.Provides routine care for the bedfast patient (turning etc.)
31.Procures medical and non-medical supplies and equipment approved by supervisor. Interview vendors’ representatives. Assist with supply inventory.
32.Evaluates products to determine possible review by Director of Health Services or specific Nurse Supervisor
33.Resolves receiving, vendor and price invoice discrepancies. Follow up on back orders. Maintain pertinent file of special items. Remain at repetitious tasks for long periods of time while completing paperwork, etc. Recognize, respond to and/or report resident emergency situations to Nurse Supervisor immediately.
34.Develops, encourages and maintains good communications between and among departments, residents, staff, visitors, vendors, etc.
35.Maintains strict confidentiality on all facility data. Communicate with and support residents, families, visitor, etc. Maintain privacy of records, conditions and other information relating to residents, employees and facility.
36.Performs assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures, and as instructed by the Nurse Supervisor. Comply with established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
37.Types documents, reports, letters, etc., at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy. Operate copier, office machines, computers, etc., as directed.
38.Prepares and mail statements in accordance with established billing procedures. Greet visitor, guest, residents, sales people and others, and monitor or report suspicious persons or situations to the Nurse Supervisor.
39.Assists in reporting complaints and grievances from residents, families, visitors and employees. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
On the job training provided.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of the state of practice.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Previous long term care experience preferred.
