Fire & Security Financial Planning & Analysis

Sr. Finance Manager, Engineering (P5)

Based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL

The Fire & Security Products (FSP) business unit at Carrier develops a comprehensive product portfolio to protect buildings, people and assets:

  • innovative residential and commercial fire detection and suppression products with global brands including Kidde, Edwards, Marioff, Autronica, GST and Det-Tronics.

  • innovative security products that include advanced software and hardware, IP solutions, wireless communications, electronic locking systems, and mobile applications with leading brands including Lenel, Interlogix, Supra and Onity.

DESCRIPTION:

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for an opportunity to develop your finance career, then we have a great opportunity for you as Sr. Manager FP&A of Engineering. This position will provide financial reporting, planning and analyses for all Fire & Security engineering metrics and spend / performance. With a team of several financial business partners, this role will provide key reporting and analytics to Fire & Security Products management on operational performance / factory reporting, cost reduction initiatives, footprint optimization, asset management, restructuring programs, product portfolio rationalization, R&D investment analysis and optimization, schedule B / value engineering opportunities and engineering productivity. This position will serve as the financial leader to the Vice President of Fire & Security Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consolidate and analyze monthly operational results

  • Provide direct labor productivity reporting and analyses

  • Provide guidance with operations on aligning productivity and capacity planning

  • Consolidate and track footprint project costs and associated savings

  • Consolidate and analyze on cost of poor quality

  • Consolidate and analyze monthly engineering results and remaining year forecast

  • Review engineering overhead, productivity and efficiency Facilitate the use of low cost engineering design centers

  • Assist in developing standardization of engineering financials and project evaluation across Fire & Security Products

  • Develop process for reviewing product portfolio to optimize investment across organization

  • Facilitate consolidation of engineering reporting to Carrie HQ

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed on various projects

  • Support in the development, preparation and consolidation of monthly financial forecast and annual plans, specifically as it relates to factory performance, New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering Spend

  • Lead the coordination and consolidation of monthly business operational reviews

  • Support the development of periodic management presentations and supporting schedules including business reviews, strategic plans, Executive Leadership Team meetings, OMM presentations and annual plans

  • Must possess strong leadership, analytical skills and sound business judgment and be comfortable working with senior management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred)

  • MBA, CPA/CMA (a plus, but not required)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong ability to lead team of analysts and develop / motivate talent in performance based culture

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, financial analysis techniques, budgeting/forecasting processes

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret operational metrics and investment models

  • Strong PC skills including advanced knowledge of HFM, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong financial/cost analysis and budgeting/forecasting skills

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, proven ability to work across all levels and functions.

  • Detail oriented with attention to quality / accuracy.

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, concurrently handling multiple projects.

  • Self-direction and organization skills critical to achieve month-end reporting deadlines.
