Sodexo is seeking a Part-time Outpatient Registered Dietitian who is experience or has an interest in to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Directs the nutritional care of out-patients

  • Review medical record and interviews patient to evaluate anthropometrics data, laboratory data, drug nutrient interactions and provides diet counseling taking into consideration cultural aspects and a wide variety of medical conditions.

  • Utilize evidence based nutrition practices guidelines to create an individualized dietary plan for the patient with a variety of medical condition.

  • Coordinate all out-patient nutrition education activities including revision of diet instruction materials; identify needs for additional materials and coordinating new material.

  • Conduct public speaking events which include weight management classes, diabetes classes and others as requested by the medical center.

  • Have excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.

  • Plays an important role in hospital/community wellness program and is a member of the wellness committee.

  • Be able to be flexible with the schedule

  • Track quality assurance indicators and action plans.

  • Maintain accurate record/documentation/ assessments so that insurance companies and Medicare can be billed

  • Increase outpatient program participation and patients utilizing various marketing strategies to include social media and physician offices.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services including those for complex needs.

Key Duties

-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.

-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.

-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.

-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.

-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., -HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments. .

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
