Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Tester Design Characterization Engineer to work from their Pittsfield, MA facility. The identified candidate will participate in test plan design, electrical analysis, and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Participates in test plan design, electrical analysis, and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems

  • Applies principles and techniques of Electrical Engineering

  • Performs detailed analysis and test of test systems

  • Documents testing and calculations in a test report

  • Performs electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues

  • Participates in electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systems

  • Applies a good understanding of the organizationally defined electrical processes used throughout the lifecycle of the program or project

  • Supports the generation of engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle

  • Plans sub tasks for activities described above

  • Generally works with multiple work groups

  • Generally works on problems of moderate scope under frequent general supervision

  • Generally has some contact with project leaders and Program Managers

  • May have some contact with external customers

  • Failure to accomplish results or errors may cause delays or require the allocation of additional resources

  • LabVIEW Experience

  • Tester Design Characterization Engineer is responsible creating characterization test plans, performing them, creating the test report.

  • Provide interface and support to Manufacturing for acceptance tester issues and assistance in troubleshooting module and power supply issues

  • Support of existing customer VME Module Acceptance Test Designs and Power Supply Test Designs

  • Implementing and improving the GDMS and C2 Systems test design process

  • Actively pursue Process/Quality improvements
