Project Managers act as the single point of accountability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned projects that are moderate and/or large in scope to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished with high quality, within established timeframes and budget, and meet and/or exceed customer and/or business expectations/needs.

Primary Functions, Activities, and Skills

  • Manages projects medium/large in size with an average/high level of complexity with minimal supervision.

  • Supports day-to-day EPMO operational activities.

  • Be adept at engaging with an array of stakeholders, such as the projects' business sponsors, business analysts, enterprise architects, resource managers, other Project Managers and Program Managers.

  • Oversee and control any external resources contracted to the project.

  • Must be confident and politically attuned enough to build partnerships and encourage collaboration between individuals and teams.

  • Work in a dynamically changing environment, in which people flow in and out of the loop depending on project phase, processes shift and change, technologies' importance to the task rises and falls, and business rules are subject to interpretation.

  • Assumes primary control of major projects of significant size and risk.

  • Plan, schedule and track projects, with related cost estimation and scope control responsibilities.

  • Continually identify, prioritize and mitigate project risks.

  • Support project-chartering process and setup.

  • Manage the team, driving motivation, collaboration and performance.

  • Implement "rightsized" project management processes.

  • Track short-term project metrics (for example, schedule variances and customer satisfaction).

  • Provide oversight and control of any external resources contracted to the project.

  • Review the project's medium-term benefits (for example, to support business-case process improvement).

  • Tactfully delivers tough messages in service of customer success. Demonstrates commitment and tenacity to solve customer issues, even in the face of challenging customer obstacles.

  • Communication Skills:

  • Commands attention in group settings. Manages challenging group dynamics adeptly to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Building Relationships:

  • Builds relationships across broader departments to increase EPMO services awareness. Communicates enthusiasm about EPMO Services while building personal and professional relationships.

Required Skills


• Minimum of three years of work experience of successfully managing a range of small-to-midsize projects of increasing complexity.

• Extensive background with Moda’s project management processes, techniques and tools.

• Familiarity with, and demonstrated understanding of, Moda’s business and technical architectures.

• Experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with management stakeholders.

Education and Training

• Have earned a college or university bachelor's degree.

• Training in, and demonstrated understanding of, standard PMI methodologies.

• Holds a PMP certification from PMI is preferred.

• Training in, and demonstrated understanding of, Moda’s IT process architecture (for example, the relationship between EPMO’s project management processes and IT’s software development life cycle methods).

• Training in, and demonstrated understanding of, the project domain (for example, application development) sufficient to review activities and tasks with domain experts and verify estimated levels of effort.
