Job summary

The Red Hat Talent Center of Excellence (CoE) team is looking for a Social Media and Events Specialist to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of Red Hat's internal and external activities that promote our company and our employment brand throughout world. You’ll play an important role in building creative and compelling content across social channels and other platforms to help enable our rapid growth. As a Social Media and Events Specialist, you’ll need to be creative, detail-oriented, have solid written and verbal communications skills, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously while under a deadline.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Create compelling and interesting social media stories and content to increase brand awareness and user engagement

  • Manage Life at Red Hat’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.), monitor social media activity, and work with internal teams to field external comments and questions

  • Partner with Red Hat’s People (HR), Talent Acquisition (TA), and Corporate Marketing teams, global program managers, and business stakeholders to design integrated go-to-market brand and communication strategies

  • Activate Red Hat’s associates on social media by equipping them with shareable content, tips, training, and best practices

  • Build an employee community that continuously contributes to content

  • Draft and plan calendars for social media copy and content; create, proofread, and edit social media materials for consistent messaging and writing style

  • Use social media management software for posting on different channels, scheduling content, and tracking analytics

  • Prepare measurement reports and social media dashboards for internal stakeholders

  • Support the Events team at internal and external events

  • Travel to various events to capture real-time content

Required skills

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role (employment branding, recruitment marketing, social media marketing, etc.)

  • Good storytelling skills and ability to write creative and engaging copy and content to be used on relevant digital channels

  • Outstanding problem-solving, writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of event management including event planning, realization, and marketing

  • Solid project management, reporting, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to pick up new tools and concepts quickly

  • Motivated with the ability to perform well under pressure

  • Ability to navigate cultural differences and build global, but locally relevant solutions

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field is a plus
