Position Overview

Opening for a very flexible full time security officer for a DOD account in Richardson Texas. - Must have current Texas level 2 guard license.This officer selected must also be willing to work any other shift when required to fill in open posts, if required. Officer must have open and fixable availability. Officer must submit application for a DOD Security clearance within 30 days of hiring.Second shift Tuesday through Saturday 1500 to 2300Day shift Friday through Tuesday 0700 to 1500

Essential Job Functions

  • Team work- communicating and working effectively with colleagues, customers, and visitors.

  • Physical ability to perform clock rounds through facilities on an hourly basis (including)

  • Walking at a moderate pace unassisted for 45-60 minutes at a time

  • Segway's required to be used on ALL shifts. The use of the Segway assists with response time and helps the Officer in these large facilities.

  • Ascending/Descending stairs on a regular basis (4-5 flights of 19-21 stairs per hour)

  • Standing unassisted for extended periods of time (50-60% of shift)

  • Must possess a customer friendly, focused, and positive attitude

  • Ability to understand operations of alarm panels, paging systems, and emergency notification systems; and perform operations with those systems and panels as needed.

  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and help in any way necessary while protecting LIFE and our facilities from harm or unauthorized intrusions

  • Must be able to kneel or crouch in an emergency medical situation requiring performance of CPR

  • Must be physically capable of performing CPR

  • Attention to all surroundings at all times, expecting the unexpected and confident forwardness in questioning anything that appears out of the ordinary

  • Attention to detail in checking facility employee's ID badges before allowing entry

  • Attention to detail in completion of required facility and access logs

  • Ability to write complete incident reports

  • Ability to verify information using a computer

  • Basic knowledge of Google Chrome, Gmail and Microsoft Office

  • Telephone skills

  • Two-Way radio skills

  • Ability to read a map


  • Clean Background with clean criminal history

  • Clean Driving Record (less than 3 violations in prior 36 months)

  • Must be able to apply for and obtain a Government level clearance (SF 86)

  • Must be FLEXIBLE and willing to work nights, graveyards, weekends, and alternate holidays.

  • Must be cooperative in coming to work in short-notice situations as called upon

  • Neat and Clean appearance (properly groomed, proper personal hygiene)

  • Texas LVL 2 Guard License

  • 1+ Years of security experience

You may qualify for the Professional Officer rate if you have the following:

  • Graduated for a local, State, or Federal law enforcement academy.

  • Graduated from a military law enforcement academy.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Familiarity with alarm systems and/or CCTV systems helpful

  • Ability to navigate the internet and email applications

  • Directional awareness: ability to offer driving directions as needed via telephone for lost customers, visitors, and delivery drivers
