Primary Responsiblities:

  • Conducts data entry for the correct processing of claims.

  • Gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies.

  • Provide input to policies, systems, methods and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function.

  • Apply in depth knowledge of the industry standard billing rules to investigate and resolve problems related to outstanding insurance and patient accounts.

  • Be flexible and work effectively in a team setting to participate in ongoing process improvement projects.

  • Release electronic files and resolves error reports.

  • Meets the performance goals established for the position in the areas of: efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient and client satisfaction and attendance.

  • Complies with departmental Business Rules and SOPs.

  • Demonstrate and maintain understanding of billing policies and procedures.

  • Focuses efforts on decreasing the AR > 90, increasing cash and / or reducing bad debt.

  • Utilizes automation tools to verify eligibility, claim status and / or to obtain better billing information.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • Demonstrated ability in using a computer and Windows PC applications

  • Strong keyboard / data entry and navigation skills (at least 45 wpm)

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs and applications

  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant terminology (e.g., financial ; medical) required for claims / billing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in A / R, Billing, Insurance orHealthcare

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to multi - task and work in a fast – paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Good Organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must have strong attention to detail
