Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Technical Advisor for immediate employment for the Sacramento, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Assists Aquatic Resources Group Manager in the marketing of services related to the licensing and license compliance for hydroelectric projects regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and/or California Public Utilities Commission.

  • Provides technical expertise on Task Orders received from the California Department of Water Resources.

  • Provides technical expertise during the preparation of various local, state, and federal permits required for project implantation.

  • Provides technical expertise in the preparation of California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act processes and document preparation.

  • Mentors staff on regulatory and technical issues.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a biological/environmental science

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Project Management experience

  • Knowledge in state and federal regulatory processes related to hydroelectric power projects

  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

  • Well-versed in the licensing regulations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as well as various local, state, and federal permitting processes, including the Clean Water Act, Forest Service special use permitting, state and federal Endangered Species Acts, and a wide range of natural resource topics that typically are associated with the licensing of hydroelectric projects (e.g., water quality, cultural resources, recreation, vegetation management, fish and wildlife).

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interact with staff and clients in a constructive manner

  • Ability to develop scopes and budgets for projects

  • Ability to conduct data analysis and interpret results

  • Strong work ethic
