Square Regulatory Licensing and Examination Manager in San Francisco, California

Square is seeking an exceptional licensing professional. If hired, you will play a key role in providing organizational and substantive support to the attorneys on the Capital Regulatory and Product Counsel teams, will have the opportunity to build out new systems and procedures, will work closely with attorneys, contracts managers, operations members, and compliance teams, and will report to the lead Regulatory Counsel for Capital. You will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Capital Product Counsel and play a key role supporting the Square Capital, LLC licensing program

o Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and requests

o Assist with the filing of registrations and similar documents with the relevant state or federal licensing agencies

o Manage license files

o Provide support for regulatory examinations

o Ensure compliance with Square’s Document Retention Policy as it relates to licensing activity

o Scan, process and manage mail

  • Work closely with our internal product, business, and compliance teams, as well as with external advisors and experts

  • Manage projects effectively, with a team-oriented approach

  • Conduct and organize legal and market research

You have:

  • Approximately 2-4 years of paralegal, project management or other experience requiring attention to detail and time management

  • Prior licensing and examination experience (lending regulatory preferred)

  • B.A./B.S.

  • The ability to work with team members at all levels, sometimes under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

  • The ability to be a good team player and help achieve corporate team goals

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong decision-making abilities and attention to detail
