Applied Materials Process Engineer II - (E2) in Santa Clara, California
Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills. Builds knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Solves a range of straightforward problems. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Performs process development for ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) of thin films (oxides and metals).
Maintains ALD equipment in working condition by performing daily quals and preventative maintenance.
Assists in the fabrication of simple devices such as capacitors and ringFETs, including process steps such as lithography, etch, deposition (dielectrics and metals), anneals and wet cleans
Helps perform recipe development and physical film characterization using optical inspection, ellipsometry, top down and cross-sectional SEMs etc.
With the help of senior engineers, defines, maintains and improves process flow runsheets.
Maintains logs and tracking sheets with detailed processing information
Helps maintain lab equipment in working order
Requires Bachelor’s degree, Majors: Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry
Requires user level experience in a fab of running lithography, etch, deposition, anneal, cleans and physical characterization
Detail oriented and organized
Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
Works independently with minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
