Amazon Web Services Reporting Data Analyst in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

Amazon is seeking an experienced analyst to join the centralized WW Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) team. We are looking for an individual who can apply their technical and data analysis expertise to design innovative solutions for measuring compliance amongst Amazon’s thousands of delivery carriers across geographic regions. In this role, you will work closely with TRC and cross-functional transportation businesses to understand key compliance and risk indicators and use the data to prepare visual representations to support business decisions. In addition, this role will support several MBRs with senior leaders by pulling, analyzing, and validating data.

TRC’s remit is to drive compliance and risk management mechanisms for Amazon’s transportation businesses serving as a secondary assurance function, supporting Last, Middle, and First Mile, as well as external suppliers of these transportation services & products.


  • Partner with internal customers and business leaders to understand their unique needs, document business requirements, and build solutions accordingly.

  • Implement solutions to report and visualize key compliance and risk factors.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance and risk statistics across transportation businesses and geographies.

  • Generate ad hoc and regular recurring compliance and risk analysis based on the needs of the stakeholders.

  • Provide recommendations through data retrieval and analysis.

  • Create new tools and business processes that simplify, standardize, and enables operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role.

  • Intermediate SQL skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and analytical platforms.

  • Analytical horsepower to break down complex problems, and a strong will to get things done and deliver results.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead projects.

  • Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.

  • Able to work effectively with multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools including building visual reports, e.g., Tableau, AWS Quicksight, Oracle BI (OBIEE).

  • Foreign language written and verbal skills (Spanish, French, Italian, German, and/or Japanese) a plus.

  • Proficient with oral and written communication including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload.

  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

  • Ability to present complex results in a clear, concise and enticing manner that encourages action.

  • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions.
