Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards by checking quality of seals, code dates labels, packaging of product, weights, odor, color, temperature of product, etc.

  • Responsible for properly inserting components in cartons, taking weights, and properly recording data.

  • Responsible for insuring proper supplies are used on the line.

  • Stacking at end of line on skid; requires constant reaching, bending and twisting.

  • Required to operate hand packer and carton feed, making minor adjustments and clearing equipment jams.

  • Record keeps as required on manual, computer and other systems. Ensures documentation is accurately completed using QCMS guidelines.

  • Ensures that housekeeping and Kraft quality standards are maintained in the work area. General housekeeping duties include sweeping, bending, pickup up trash, lifting trash bags filled with trash, picking up cheese bags.

  • Operates material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Performs variety of sanitation and maintenance-type functions.

  • Must check product and fill out quality documentation.

  • Must be able to work with others on the line – “Team Work”.

  • Performs other duties as directed by Line Leader.

  • Strives to deliver cases above productivity targets.

  • Must maintain processing equipment by utilizing the production playbook system and settings.

  • Performs variety of maintenance-type tasks such as change-overs, set-ups, pit stops, minor maintenance and adjustments, lubrication, etc.

  • Will be required to be involved in improvement opportunities teams.

  • This position is expected to complete training on upgrade and relief positions within the Dinner’s department.

  • Utilizes and updates Oscar boards as needed.

  • Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield QRMP accountability document.

  • Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.

Minimum Requirements:

·Knowledge: Basic math, reading and communication.

  • Working Environment: Primarily indoors, hot and humid, subject to dusty conditions; temperature can vary up to 100 degrees during warm weather months. During Sanitation can be exposed to wet conditions.

  • May be required to work from vertilifts, ladders and platforming.

Qualifications:

  • Able to work in conditions with high dust/flour content. Comfortable working at various heights.

  • Able to acquire Fork Truck License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting and reaching to both ground level and overhead.

  • Lifts, carries, pushes, routinely pulls and moves up to 40 pounds; holds and grips objects; must possess manual dexterity to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment.

  • Must be able to stand while inserting components.

  • Must be able to do sustained activity jobs.
