AIM Aerospace, Inc. Tool Repair in Sumner, Washington
Performs minor repair to existing tooling.
Determine appropriate material to use for repair according to customer specifications.
Interpret customer blueprints to perform hand layout and make repairs to wood, aluminum, and composite tools.
Utilize customer blueprints to determine dimensional requirements and make appropriate adjustments to tool.
Fabricate shop aids.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Specific Job Skills:
Strong mathematical aptitude and excellent mathematical skills.
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Possess the ability to read and understand blueprints and aerospace specifications.
Ability to use a wide variety of measuring equipment such as scales, calipers (both dial and Vernier), and height gauges.
Familiarity with operating hand milling machines, lathes, routers, band saws, sanders, jointers, planers, and a wide variety of hand and power tools
2-3 years of experience directly related to the functions and responsibilities specified, in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical school training or equivalent experience with composite material and tool making is a plus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas. PPE is provided by AIM based on the employee’s position and exposure.
