Position Description:

Performs more complex materials tasks involving the allocation of receiving finished goods and shipping finished goods to customers. Has thorough knowledge of business enterprise systems (Baan, Oracle) in the area of specialization. Identifies problems, determines root causes, and takes required corrective action to achieve a high level of transaction accuracy. May provide technical support to lower-level Materials Technicians.

Basic Qualifications:

Processes systems transactions to record the receipt of finished goods. Ensures that all electronic and manual transactions are completed with a high degree of accuracy.

Reviews system-generated documents in electronic and hard copy formats to determine shipping requirements and ships product on time.

Issues required shipping documentation to other Materials Technicians.

Works very close with Quality Assurance to solve product issues. Determines and corrects causes of inventory inaccuracy, reconciling inventories between warehouse locations.

Communicates effectively and positively with all levels of personnel and customers.

Dispositions rejected materials properly and prevents such materials from re-entering finished goods inventories.

Performs job duties in compliance with established safety, environmental and quality standards.

Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Alcoa Guide to Business Conduct.

Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
