API Heat Transfer Brake Press Operator in United States

Position Purpose:

Set up and operate all sizes of press brakes to perform a wide variety of forming, notching, bending and punching operations on a diversified line of work

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle to capacity of machine at the Iron Ridge facility

  2. Determine sequence of multiple pass operations to make required bends on complicated sections

  3. Make set-ups for forming special shapes having single or compound radii and angle requirements.

  4. Set up fixed and adjustable punching dies and gauges for multiple and series punching.

  5. Work from drawings, pattern, templates and specifications

  6. Use scale, protractor, dividers, radii gauges, etc

  7. Proceed with minimum supervision and instruction8.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required

  2. Be able to work from blue prints

  3. Ability to use measuring devices such as ruler, square, dial caliper and micrometer

Physical Requirements:

  1. Requires standing at work station for at least 8 hours per day.

  2. Considerable physical effort working with average or heavy weight materials, and/or tools or difficult work positions for sustained periods of time

  3. Ability to lift and maneuver parts up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience:
