API Heat Transfer Designer in United States

Position Purpose:

Supports strategic and contractual obligations by providing designs, drawings, calculations, bills of material and other documentation for conventional product designs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs ASME code calculations for conventional and custom designs. Is authorized to sign calculations.

  2. Prepares simple and complex layouts as required to determine geometric relationships of components and subassemblies with a focus on designing for cost and manufacturability.

  3. Provides accurate detail drawings, part masters, and bills of material for parts and assemblies per Company and ASME standards..

  4. Additional responsibilities

    a. Creates manufacturing data and files required to process parts and assemblies through production.

    b. Provides additional documentation as needed to satisfy contract and project requirements.

    c. Interacts with other departments in identifying and meeting materials and configuration requirements.

    d. Maintains competency in tools and standards applicable to the function.

Education and Experience:

  1. Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.

  2. 2 years' prior experience with Autocad required; experience with SolidWorks a plus.

  3. At least 2 years' experience in pressure vessel, heat exchanger, or related field; 5 years' preferred.
