Job Summary:

Responsible

for a broad variety of technical administration, engineering, and support for

Health Systems information systems, enterprise applications and associated infrastructure.

Provides direct support for the planning, coordination, upgrade, enhancement and

implementation of computer systems and infrastructure/application software.

Ensures stable performance through performance monitoring and tuning.

Participates in capacity planning, workload modeling, and prediction of

resource needs, ensures timely system maintenance, participates in the planning

and implementation of major software and hardware upgrades, ensuring change

management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed. Works

independently or as a member of interdisciplinary teams on moderately complex

projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible fortechnical administration, engineering and support of Health Systems informationsystems, enterprise applications and infrastructure.

  2. Provides directsupport for the planning, coordination, upgrade, enhancement and implementationof systems and software.

  3. Ensures stableperformance through performance monitoring and tuning.

  4. Ensures timelysystem maintenance, participates in the planning and implementation of majorsoftware and hardware upgrades

  5. Configures,installs, maintains, applies patches/fixes and troubleshoots physical andlogical tiers of applications/software/systems.

  6. Assists withconceptualization, design and set up of systems architecture and its variouscomponents.

  7. Worksindependently or as a member of interdisciplinary teams on complex projects.

  8. Participates incapacity planning, workload modeling and prediction of resource needs.

  9. Ensures that changemanagement procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.

Educational requirements and/orpreferences:

  • Bachelor's Degreein Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; equivalent combination ofeducation and work experience is acceptable.

  • At least 3 yearsof practical experience as a systems engineer in a complex multi-platform,multi-protocol environment.

  • Expertise with avariety of server/systems monitoring, analysis, management, and configurationtools.

  • Able to solveproblems independently, quickly, and completely and communicate them clearly toupper management.

  • Strong projectmanagement and interpersonal skills; able to deal effectively with diverseskill sets and personalities, provide strong team leadership, and workeffectively as a team player.

  • Highly organizedwith a proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, manage severalcomplex projects at one time, and utilize time effectively for staff and self.

  • Experience withbackup client/server software (TSM preferred)

  • Required to haveexperience with cluster software (for Infrastructure positions)

  • Healthcare sectorexperience a plus

  • Advanced scriptingskills

  • Remote Serverbuilds (PXE preferred) (for Infrastructure positions)

  • Competent withmainstream office automation, project management, and communications tools.

  • Demonstratedability to work with PowerPoint and Visio for workflow architectural diagrams.

  • Executes all jobresponsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, honestly, and ethically.

  • Excellent oral, written andpresentation skills.
